Mike Halligan

CEO, God's Pantry Food Bank

Michael Halligan serves as CEO for God’s Pantry Food Bank. There are 220,000 neighbors facing food insecurity across the Food Bank’s Central and Eastern Kentucky service area.  He was born and raised in Muscatine County Iowa, met his wife Lori while earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Iowa State University, and has been a community advocate where he’s lived and worked including locations in the Midwest, on both the East and West Coast, the greater Chicago area, and now in Lexington, Kentucky.  He joined the Food Bank team after serving in several senior procurement leadership positions at ConAgra Foods. Prior to that he worked as Senior Vice President of Food Sourcing and Logistics at Feeding America and earlier in his career held a variety of management positions with PepsiCo and The Quaker Oats Company.  Social services and youth fitness are two passions.  He coached 8th grade and high school football for 12 years while living in the Chicago area.  Many players he coached continued play at the next level including five who landed in the NFL. In Lexington, Mike is a member of Rotary and served on the Commission for Racial Justice & Equality. He is a member of the Alpha Pi Mu Industrial Engineering Honor Society, a graduate of Leadership Kentucky, a Kentucky Colonel, and a recipient of numerous awards including Communicator of the Year from the PRSA Thoroughbred Chapter, the Living Our Values Award from Feeding America, the Crystal Award from ConAgra Foods, and a Laureate in Equality from the Tech Museum of Innovation.
